13TH AFRICA PROSECUTORS ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE, MAURITIUS
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Mauritius is pleased to host the 13th Africa Prosecutors Association (‘APA’) Conference and AGM from 30th October to 1st November 2018 at Le Meridien Hotel, Pointe aux Piments, Mauritius. It gives me great pleasure to welcome distinguished heads and delegates of prosecuting agencies from Africa.
This Conference presents an excellent opportunity for prosecuting agencies of Africa to meet and discuss daunting challenges faced by our respective jurisdictions in the fight against crime in a fast changing global environment.
The theme of the Conference is ‘Prosecutorial Independence and Accountability: A prerequisite of the Rule of Law.’ The conference programme is geared towards encouraging fruitful discussions on topics of interest to us all in ensuring prosecutorial independence as well as bolstering the rule of law.
I trust that our close collaboration is the key to staying ahead of the curve in our common endeavour to grapple with crimes, both domestic and transnational and to foster cooperation and networking among prosecutors of Africa. I look forward to welcoming you all in Mauritius.
